Snow in Memphis

It's rare, but it does happen......snow in Memphis. The snow began on Friday afternoon and by 8 AM Saturday morning there was a total of 3 inches on the ground. By 10 AM the streets were dry and by late afternoon there was barely a trace.

Born 10 AM, Saturday March 8, 2008. Her fate was sealed once the sun came out. By 6 PM she was just a sweet memory.

Start Spreading the News

Two weeks ago, I had the chance to travel to New York City and was there for a total of 27 hours. During my visit, I had a chance to spend time with my Aunt Kathleen - and we each enjoyed an authentic slice of New York cheese pizza. Oh, that was so very, very nice! This was the view from the front of my hotel the one night I stayed. The group I was with had a wonderful dinner at Carmine's (Italian food), and we even got to see a photo shoot with two of the female stars from that new tv-show, Lipstick Jungle. We had our meeting at the Bronx VA the next day, then I headed back to Memphis! But what a fun memory! (This photo was taken by my official photographer, Jeff Grandon!)

Sea World

Witness the transformation from adult to nine years old.

Sea World - a quest complete. Yes, we were sitting in the soak zone -yes the camera is an expensive digital SLR - yes we did get splashed - and yes, it was pure luck that the camera stayed dry. YES we loved it!

Finally in January 2008 we made it to Sea World. Nothing compares to Shamu, but the dolphins gave us a show to remember!

If only Chuck could stop being so shy in public. Sadly the camera could not catch the footwork that went with the beating-of-the-drum.

We had pool-side seats for Dinner With Shamu. This little guy is just over a year old. How lucky can you get to have a table sitting at one of the few ledges where the whales pop up to say hello!
